Are you compassionate, dependable, and passionate about making a difference? We are seeking caring and dedicated Direct Support Professionals and Host Home/Companion Care Providers to provide high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Home and Community Services (HCS) Program.


As a Direct Care Staff or a Host Home Provider, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve greater independence, build meaningful relationships, and actively participate in their communities while receiving person-centered care in a safe and supportive environment.




 

Direct Support Professional


Responsibilities

 

  • Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
  • Encourage independence while respecting each person's unique goals and abilities.
  • Assist with community outings, recreational activities, shopping, and medical appointments.
  • Administer medications according to state guidelines and company policy (training provided).
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the individuals you support.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation and service records.
  • Help create a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to provide exceptional care.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check and any required pre-employment screenings.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training available if needed).
  •  Previous experience in healthcare, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. 
  •  Ability to lift, transfer, bend, stand, and assist individuals as needed. 


Host Home/Companion Care Provider


Responsibilities

 

  • Welcome an individual into your home and provide a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation.
  • Support the individual's Person-Directed Plan (PDP), Individual Plan of Care (IPC), and personal goals.
  • Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and decision-making.
  • Promote participation in community activities, employment, recreation, and social events.
  • Provide companionship while respecting each individual's rights, dignity, privacy, and personal preferences.
  • Administer medications as trained and authorized in accordance with Texas HHSC requirements and agency policy.
  • Monitor health and safety and report any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with the individual's interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, and quality assurance activities.


Qualifications

 

  • Are at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a stable, safe, and welcoming home that meets applicable licensing and HCS program requirements.
  • Can successfully complete required criminal background checks and pre-service screenings.
  • Are willing to complete all required HHSC and agency training.
  • Possess a valid Texas driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (preferred).
  • Demonstrate patience, compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to person-centered care.
  • Can support an individual in living as independently as possible while ensuring their health and safety.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.
